Bright and breezy ....

16th August 2021 (Monday)     08.00 .... It’s a nice, bright sunny and warm


morning, with a light breeze, and I am feeling playful after the pressure of the past few days.  At last I have the heating times and temperature to my way of liking for this time of year.   I haven’t a ‘play plan’ for today, but I must hand in a prescription sometime this morning;  so I’ll go somewhere on the bike then.  Right now it’s breakfast time.

20.30    What a glorious day we’ve had.... in fact it was so bonnie that I only did a circuit of the villages this morning;  there was stuff happening all over the place, and it was a bonnie light for the camera.   I enjoyed myself pottering round for an hour and a half.... it was relaxing.    The beach was busy as was the water, with the colourful sails of the dinghies adding their bit of brightness, to what was a bright and breezy morning.  

Mike came in just before lunch time to check the taps for drips;  and tightening a couple.    Otherwise I have had a quiet and restful day. 

 


I have been keeping an eye on the ‘News’ from Afghanistan, and really it is bad sad;   sad when you think of all the progress that has been made, over the past 20 years, to bring that country into 21st century thinking re Human Rights.... especially regarding women and girls.    Now all that 20 years of work could all be wasted, if the Taliban go back to the way it was when they were last in power, 20 years ago;  they say they won’t, but only time will tell.  And the stories coming out, from the cities now under Taliban rule, are not reassuring.

I ended up feeling one degree under today.... there was something in the air that set off my asthma, .... which is why I spent time watching the news,   Anyway I’m feeling brighter now and hope to be a bit more active tomorrow.   This morning’s run out on the bike was the only time I went anywhere.

The ‘plan’ for tomorrow is to make some Cottage Pies in the morning;  after I’ve been


for the paper, then go for a turn out on the bike in the afternoon .... ‘light cloud and a gentle breeze’ is the forecast and there is a chance of light rain first thing in the morning.   I’ll go for the paper in mid morning.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
