30th January 2020 (Thursday)        09.00 .... it’s a bonnie enough morning Bit breezy so I stayed in the car. but there’s a brisk breeze already, and it’s forecast to become really ‘brisk’ ... and there’s spits and spots o’ rain now and again.     It wisnae that cauld but I didn’t get oot o’ the car!     I think this is going to be a computer day for ‘the boy’. 20.30    We’ve had a wild day;   the wind must have been F 8 most of the afternoon and it brought in a few squally showers, so not a great day for pottering about outside.    I did go to the ‘Pav’ for morning coffee with Myra and Geoff, and, had a short run out in the car in the afternoon.    Most of my day has been spent working on the computer.    I set up the new ‘hub’ and it is faster than the old one so I’m looking Frisky sea. forward to seeing how fast downloads  will be after we go ‘Super Fast’ on the 24th April.   Super Fast? .... I haven’t been feeling even ‘fast’ today, never mind super fast.   Having sai

29th January 2020 (Wednesday)        07.45 .... the road is wet so we must Nice pre sunrise sky. have had some overnight rain .... and the air feels slightly less cold.    The forecast is for us to have sunny spells with light rain showers later.    I’m feeling ‘frisky as a frolicking ferret’ but it isn’t exactly a ‘play’ day as I have to wait in (11.15 to 15.30) for a new hub being delivered from BT.     I am looking forward to morning coffee with the ‘Troops’ in the ‘Pav’ at 10.00.   09.30     Did I say it was warmer?.....it isn’t down at the harbour;   then it rarely is.    I found a sheltered place behind the rocks so I was warm enough but it is a day to be well wrapped up if exposed to the wind.    I’m orf to get the papers and have morning coffee with the Troops.      Colourful north western sky. 15.00     We had a good ‘catch up chat’ in the ‘Pav’ and I am up to date with all the news but I have forgotten most of it:     except that I don’t visit Jim until Satu

28th January 2020 (Tuesday)      09.30 ....it’s a lovely morning but there’s Bonnie but cold with snow on the hills around Edinburgh. a wintry feel to the air .... and there’s snow on Soutra Hill just southeast of Edinburgh (the A68 road).    Someone’s lum went up on the south side just west of North Berwick, at least it looked like a lum with all the smoke;   it was extinguished after 5 – 10 minutes or so.    I’m going to Leven to visit Jim, and get a few more bedtime books.      18.30     Wellll .... who was a silly boy this morning.     Oh I went to Leven as planned but when I went to buy a couple of goodies I discovered that I had no money having left my wallet in another jacket.    So .... no goodies, no books and no shopping;   but I did visit Jim.    Jim was quieter today but he did recognise one or two of the Elie kirk windows... in fact he mentioned that I hadn’t brought a photo of the one with the bumble bee!    The ‘Glasgow’ window. 26th January 2020 (Sunday)      09.00 .... No matter how often I crest the .... part of 'the view'. dunes at the bottom of Ferry Wynd, and I’ve done it thousands of time, I always get a thrill as the view opens when I reach the top.... it’s fantastical.     No matter what the weather, sunshine or overcast, it still gets to me:   and I take another 50 or so photos to add to the thousands I already have.     This morning we have a brisk breeze, so loads o’ fresh air about, and it’s overcast with rain mentioned for later in the morning.    The view is always there to be enjoyed.... aye even if it does rain.    Hey I’m feeling ‘romantic’ this morning.     Orf to have breakfast and a mug of my finest Coffee Bag coffee! Elie lighthouse.... with heavy showers along the 'sooth' side'. 10.30     It has started to spit rain but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be overly heavy;   and it is forecast to clear away quickly with the chance of sunny spells later in

25th January 2020 (Saturday)    Anniversary of the birth of 'Rabbie Burns' ... 261 years ago. 07.30 .... it’s dark this morning so I assume it’s cloudy .... then again I have only been Memorial to fishermen lost at sea - Pittenweem. as far as the front gate, and there wisnae much happening there;   only the security light in the car going on and off.    I’m having a cuppa before....... probably wandering down to the beach. 09.30    Nobody told me that it was goin’ tae be cauld today;   so who went to Pittenweem harbour? .... yep ... the boy.    I was on a scouting mission and got a photo of what I was after but not quite exactly as I wanted it to be.     I’ll go back again .... on a warmer morning. On the way back I dropped in to the ‘Paper Shop’ to pick up the papers ... I am now ensconced in Ivy about to make myself a mug o’ coffee.    The greenhouse clearing session might begin once the temperature rises;   though it disnae look like that’s goin’ tae hap

24th January 2020 (Friday)         09.30 .... It’s breezy with a bit more 10 minutes before sunrise. cloud about this morrrrrrrning, and Largo Law has a cap of cloud not normally a good sign.     I’ve been down to the harbour in the car, and it’s breezy down there: it’s Jimmy’s car it does the harbour run on automatically.    I’m thinking of washing the car;   I’d do it on the street but it’s a bit cauld for that so the car wash it will be.     I’m feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning .... might even do some work.    Breakfast!    I haven't had food this morning;  silly boy. 14.00       As is my wont I changed my mind and washed the car on the street.... and managed to get my feet wet, before going to Leven to visit Jim.    Jim  was having a mug of coffee in the Dining Room :   so I got myself a glass of water and joined him.     I didn’t take in any goodies today.... a sudden whim had me going down to the Care Sunset time on the beach. 23rd January 2020 (Thursday)       07.30 ....”Sunny intervals with a Elie from the pier this morning. moderate breeze” is the weather forecast for KY9 today.... and it’s not too cold so a good morning for having a haircut.      09.00     I had a change of mind and went down to the harbour in the car for a walk round but there wasn’t much going on, and the sunrise though bonnie, wasn’t spectacular.    It was, as it always is at the harbour, cauld on the lugs.    The ‘plan’ was to pick up the papers on the way home but I didn’t have any money with me so that never happened.    I’ll get them on my way home from Leven.    Orf to have breakfast. 13.30    Once again we have the streamlined version of ‘me’;   I’ve had my haircut.   My lugs are cauld.  I was lucky when I went to the hairdressers as she had just started work so I got taken right away, and was in Stuart’s for a cuppa and a scone by 10.45. 22nd January 2020 (Wednesday)        07.30 .... There’s a warm (for Peaceful .... warm, morning. January) breeze blowin’ and, though it’s still dark, there is the feel of a nice day ahead ..... but I’ve only been as far as the front gate.    Just now I’m having a cuppa before making myself ready for a slow daunder down to the beach before breakfast. 09.00     It is a bonnie day;    long sunny spells with a flock o’ cotton wool clouds bumbling across from the WNW.   The beach was quiet but I enjoyed a stroll along the tides edge.    Having checked the weather cams I knew that sunrise was going to happen behind low clouds but I like the fresh air.... and there is plenty of that on any beach.    Of course we have Anstruther beach. ‘Royal’ air!     Must go...’slight flap on’ this morrrrning.... got to post a letter then get ready for the Guild Burns Lunch... 12.00 for 12.30.    I have a mug of tea to drink before‘flap state’ kicks in. 10.30     I went along to Anstruther

21st January 2020 (Tuesday)      10.00 ... . It’s a really nice morning... and Nice pre sunrise sky this morrrrrrrning. it isn’t as cold as it has been for the past couple of days.    I have been a semi busy boy so far today;    the washing is on the line, and I have been to the beach to catch the sunrise.     I didn’t think I’d get the bike out today but it isn’t as windy as I thought it would be so I might just go for a scuttle round the villages later. 11.30   I’m happy to see the wind freshening... it makes today a good dryin’ day!   Oh .... I have been talking to ‘our’ sign writer (nae surprise there), Mick McManus is his name and he was a professional footballer in his youth playing (on the right wing... No7 jersey in those days) for Motherwell, Hamilton Accies and Montrose in a footballing career that lasted from 1975 – 1987.  Chatting to Mick made, what had Mick McManus redoing our street name plates. been a ‘run of the mill’ kind of day, into an interesting one.

I fancy a mug o’ coffee (made with a coffee bag). 09.30     I had the beach to myself which isn’t surprising because it is breezy, and cool, down there;   however I got a load of fresh air and a few sunrise time photos so I’m happy.    I’ll begin the remainder of my day with another cuppa .... and browse the photographs I got, before contemplating doing some work. Blustery afternoon. 15.30    The delivery van ar
