Feeling animated

Image
31st March 2018 (Saturday)       09.30 .... I’m feeling fairly animated this morning;    alas, the weather is not suitable for playing outside:    being ‘dull with rain’, It looks cold .... and it was! now and again’.     The wind has backed to the Northeast, and it is cold, ....   but, easier to breathe.      I’ll have a bumble down to the beach after breakfast;    choosing my time with care.... to miss the   showers.      You never know we might get a sunny spell later;     having said that,     I don’t think the bike will be coming out today at all.     Orf to have breakfast, having overslept .... again.     This is perfect ‘sleeping in’ weather. 11.30      I’ve yet to get to the beach, but I have been working on the computer.     As expected, the villages are busy with holiday makers:    I know this because I see ‘strangers’ walking on Ferry Road, .... strangers wearing waterproofs etc.   This is not holiday weather.      I’m going to see if it’s dry enough to go to the b

30th March 2018 (Friday) .... 09.00     Mmmmmm .... it’s not the kindest of weather for the start of the Easter Holiday;     overcast, with rain at times, and a brisk This afternoon ....  rain/sleet at the time. breeze, from the Southeast, so it’s cauld.     I have yet to go to the beach;    when I do go it will be a quick walk to the Cockstail rocks and back.     It does not look like being a day for the bike.      However, the central heating is ‘on’, the kettle will have boiled,.... yes,...   I am warm, and content.      Should I leave the warmth and mosey down to the beach?   After a cuppa ... perhaps.   11.00      Jings .... the weather has deteriorated and is miserable now ..... I haven’t been to the beach;    but I have had a couple of ‘cuppas’.      It’s looking like being a day for computer stuff, and I’ve had the seeds of an idea that should keep me occupied for the duration of the inclement weather;    wellll?.... maybe not quite.    I can understand folk wanting to

Bright and sunny ....

29th March 2018 (Thursday) ....08.00     We have a ‘bright and sunny, but nippy’ spring morning;    there’s a fairly heavy frost,(-2c), which should lift rapidly 'Sheep' shortbread -  and very tasty it is! once the sun gets going.      I’ll go to Leven in the car.... that way I will be back home sooner;    it is a good day for going out on the bike ..... once the temperature rises:    However, there’s a ‘slight flap on’ as I, sort of, overslept.... another reason for taking the car.     Better have a quick breakfast.      10.00      Welll.... that’s me ready for Easter weekend.... haircut, food , and car ‘moored up’.       Today was the first time I’ve had my haircut it the upstairs part of the hairdressers;   in fact I didn’t even know there was an ‘upstairs’.      The upstairs must be the ‘Tardis’ of hair salons;    it’s huge..... I was taken aback by the size of it.     The lassie worked her ‘magic’ once more, and I can see my lugs again. On the way home I got ca

28th March 2018 (Wednesday) .... 08.00     There’s a 50/50(ish) mix of blue sky and clouds this morning, so we should get a few decent sunny spells... and light Heavy showers all around this afternoon. showers later.     There is a cool breeze from the Northwest, but nothing that a good jacket and scarf won’t nullify.     Nullify?     I like that word .... I must use it more. I’m going to Leven as planned;     hopefully to get a haircut, definitely to do a shopping.     Better go .... 'slight flap on' now. 20.30     Got the shopping done this morning, but no haircut;   however I booked in to get a haircut tomorrow morning at 09.30.   Depending on the weather, I might bike along to Elie, and ‘catch’ the ‘X60’ bus.    The trip to Leven went smoothly;   I would have been happier if I’d got the haircut, but the salon was busy with girls having their hair done.    The journey home was ‘slow and steady’ which is the way I like it;   the traffic got caught behind a ‘Vegcraft

27th March 2018 (Tuesday)     “Happy Birthday” to Michael who will be ... no you cannae be that old .... I’d only be 5 (?) when you were born.    H ave a great day....old is fun! 08.30     .... as forecast the East wind has brought rain in from the North sea overnight, Much wetness. and it’s still raining .... but, the wind is going to veer to the West later in the afternoon so the rain should peter out.   I’ll take the car up to Elie and pick up the paper, then it will be a computer morning.     I’m wondering.... I need a haircut.... this might be a good day to have that done.     I’ll consider that over breakfast.     Everyone will be glad to know that ‘Hercules' (hormone) has calmed down!    11.00       It is definitely raining.... I set off to go to the beach, and changed my mind, ‘cos it was heavy ... not good for my delicate hair!    I had been to Elie (in the car),... in fact I went to Elie harbour.    That’s something I won’t be doing again until after the E

24th March 2018 (Saturday) .... 08.00     Big ‘Flap on’ this morning;   the Kellie Castle. Troops are coming!     The weather forecast is excellent,   ‘bright and sunny, with a light breeze’;   a nice day for pottering around Kellie Castle Garden, looking for signs of Spring.      I’m feeling bright and breezy this morning, after a long and good night’s sleep;     I must have been tired after the excitement of the past couple of days.     Oh .... I’d better rattle round with the ‘oover, and have a quick flick round with a duster, before the ‘Troops’ arrive;    ‘ousework has been neglected recently.     All of a sudden, a ‘weakness’ has come over me, at the thought of ‘work’ ..... I need a cuppa.     Romantic photo of Iain and Jackie in Kellie Castle garden. 21.00      My word .... I’m one tired ‘boy’ tonight.     The ‘Troops’ arrived about 11.00, .....bearing gifts, ‘fired up’, and rarin’ to go.      We had a quick cuppa before going up to Kellie Castle garden.     This

23rd March 2018 (Friday) ... 08.30     “Happy Birthday” to my friend Joe in Sunny Sussex.      Sometime today, Joe, and   also ‘This Boy’, will be two 'Birthday boy' cards etc. billion, five hundred and twenty four, six hundred and eight thousand, seconds old (2,524,608000);   this calculation includes 20 leaps days.     Therein is a clue as to how old... er ... nearly old Joe, and ‘The Boy’ will be.    Jings, even at this age I am excited;      I’m about to   open ‘birthday’ cards, and a parcel.      The sky is beginning to break up after overnight rain;   it looks like the sun will break through by 10.30.     10.30 is a crucial time this morning;    that’s when Irene, and the girls tee off! 09.30       We have sunshine ... and it’s warm. 11.30     I’m just this minute in from a run up to the ‘Fudge Burger’ factory.    The intention was to have coffee and a goodie in the Cafe, but it was full.... so I bought two All that remains of the medieval Chapel/Hosp

Feeling dynamic .... slightly

Image
22nd March 2018 (Thursday) .... I went   round the villages on the bike before breakfast, and i can tell you that all is well at the Centre of the Universe.     The Elie Harbour. weather leaves a bit to be desired, being that the sky overcast, and there’s brisk breeze from the Southwest.... but it isn’t awfie cold.....(it isn’t awfie warm either).       We should get a few ‘sunny/bright spells’ later;    but, light rain is forecast for evening and overnight.      I’m feeling slightly dynamic this morning ..... I’ll have a walk round the garden;    that should   bring me back to earth.       There’s a lot to do in the garden.     I might do a wee bit out there later .... its the garden rubbish bucket (broon) this week. Greenock fishing boat... "The Pride of Wales", in Anstruther. harbour. 21.00       This ‘boy’ is tired, having been reasonably active all day.     Instead of having a walk round the garden I circumnavigated the villages on my bike.     Even though

21st March 2018 (Wednesday) ...... “Happy Birthday to Iain (Auchnagatt) ....who is   ... is ... one year older today!”    Have a lovely day,...  oh you're working? .... enjoy looking at the boats in the harbour.    I don’t doubt that Jackie and the ‘Troops’ will want to spoil you!      08.00       Where is the sun?       We have an overcast sky this morning:   I’d got used to, Cadger's Wynd, Earlsferry. and   rather preferred the ‘bloo’ sky we had.   The overcast sky has upset me;     I’m feeling ‘sluggish’.      Oh welll .... at least it’s dry, and, we   could get a few bright spells by the look of it.     I need breakfast ...a touch of caffeine o get me into gear.       17.00     It has been cold today;    and it was raining when I went to Leven.       Oh that reminds me:    not counting the roadworks at Scoonie roundabout (and brae) .... where, having just missed the temporary traffic lights, I had to wait for 7 minutes until they changed back to green ....   m
