Cold southeasterly wind .....

5th March 2024 (Tuesday)     08.30.... any thoughts of the windows being cleaned promptly


evaporated as soon as I ventured beyond the front gate this morrrrrrrrrrning; and I promptly stepped back into the shelter of Ivy garden and fed 'Blob' (and friends)....who are still feeding as if expecting bad weather.   Although the sky is mostly overcast the cloud is breaking, so sunny intervals should be with us soon; but it's always going to feel cold in that wind.   I might clean the inside of the windows, but I think it will be a computer day for me.  

11.45    The sun has made me feel warmer.... but there's still a cold southeasterly breeze.  That said I'm actually contemplating doing the windows, after a lazy morning watching 'Deadliest Catch'.   They were catching crab on the edge of the ice pack (Bering Sea)... which is why I suddenly feel warmer!   I'll have a cuppa then get the tools lined up.

15.30    The big paned windows have been cleaned inside and out.   The kitchen ones I thought about, but with wee panes I might have to do them off the step ladders, and I didn't fancy that today.  It wasn't the warmest of jobs, but I'm happy that I've made a start;  it's good being able to see out again!   I intend  doing the kitchen ones tomorrow ....if the weather is suitable.  I think this justifies a celebratory cuppa!  Kettle 'on'.


16.30    For some reason I can't log in to FB because it is using an old e-mail address;  obviously there is something wrong with the site.  I've just checked the BBC News page and found the FB is down world wide.   Must 'go' slight flap on.... I think I'll have a wander up to the golf course.  

22.15   It was to cold for wandering up to the golf course, so I ended went to the harbour in the car.   There was an interesting pre sunset sky so I was happy enough.  FB is back up.... we're back in the world again!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
