Cloudy and damp ....

6th March 2024 (Wednesday)    08.30 .... we don't have a very interesting sky this morning....

cloud with light drizzle now and again has drifted in from the North Sea, so it's not a pleasant start to the day.   It might brighten up later but the forecast doesn't mention  'sunny spells'.   I'm glad that I cleaned the windows yesterday;  today is a 'stay in, warm and cosy' day.  I'll be in front of the computer.... or the tele.

11.30    I've been watching 'Deadliest Catch';  fishing for crab in the Bering Sea in winter is not a job I'd want to do....it has to be one of the worst jobs on the planet.   I'm going to have a cuppa then write up a bit of the 'Kinneuchar Project'.   It's a good kind o' day for doing that.  I've been out and it looks like the sky is breaking up a bit.... we might get a few sunny spells later in the afternoon.   I might take a turn 'round the block' on the bike if sunny spells arrive.... and the wind moderates.

19.00    The sky brightened for a wee while in the afternoon, but the wind hadn't moderated, so I never went out....it wasn't a good day for me going out, and I was enjoying writing up the Kinneuchar Project stuff anyway.   The car is pointing North so I'm going to Leven and Methil tomorrow.... the weather is going to be much the same as today's, but I'm hoping for sunny spells in the afternoon!   And Alice needs annoying!

22.30    I have had a restful day;  and I was in need of it after cleaning the windows yesterday!   Ye Gods.... that used to be an easy job.   Although it has been a 'lazy' day I've enjoyed writing up the Kinneuchar stuff.   I'm happy with multiple 'projects' going at the same time, because I can pick

whichever one I feel in the mood to do.   It might be drawing nest week.   Tomorrow I'm visiting Alice and we'll do a wee bit shopping before going to the local kirk for lunch.  I'll be glad when I don't have to travel through Colinsburgh every time I go to Leven: Colinsburgh Main Street is not traffic friendly....  especially with the extra traffic  just now.   Orf to make the 'white stuff' then into bed with my book.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
