Misty, damp and cold....

10th March 2024 (Sunday)    08.30 .... the sky is heavily overcast, so not much to attract the eye

skywards this morning.   It's damp, but the light rain mentioned in the forecast, has yet to arrive;  though it looks like it could rain/drizzle at any time; not the bonniest on starts to the day,  That said, 'Blob' was in a good mood, twittering away to himself in the Rowan tree. when I went out to feed him.   He's 'in love' because he didn't chase a second  Robin that came down to feed.   

20.30   I've been busy on the computer and  around Ivy so the weather hasn't been a problem for me;  apart from not getting out for exercise.   I fed 'Blob' a few times but never went further than the gate.... I didn't even go for the paper.   The weather has been slightly better than expected .... but never bonnie enough to get excited by thoughts of the beach etc.  The only photo I got was one of 'Blob' on the mooch.  The others are from the Alber' Archive.

When browsing the archive I came across some photographs that could mean  another project.   I'll have three to keep me occupied   The writing up of the 'Kinneuchar Project' is coming on;  I was in mid flow this afternoon when  migraine kicked in (weather) so that brought a quick end to all 'work'.   I have been 'resting' ever since.   That happened at 17.00;  a better time to have one than first thing in the morning.

Good news regarding the weather tomorrow;  we should have sunny spells at some point.    The wind is still going to be from the East so it won't be warm, but it should be considerably brighter.    We like bright and sunny.

22.30   I'm feeling content after a reasonably active day of the computer.   It's always better when the sun shines, but I have loads to get on with on days like this.   Tomorrow I'm looking forward to visiting (and annoying) Alice.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
