Bright frosty morning ....

1st March 2024 (Friday)     08.15 .... I'll begin by wishing all my Welsh friends a  "Happy St

Low cloud over Balcarres.

David's Day".... on what is a gorgeous St David's Day morrrrrning here in Elie and Earlsferry.   That said this wintry feeling weather wasn't in my plan for today;  luckily there's only a light breeze, so, though cold, there's not much in the way of wind chill.  It's a wrap up well morning with light rain forecast for later in the afternoon/evening.

17.00    'The Boy' has been busy:  after breakfast I decided to go to Methil, and have a cuppa with Alice then we'd go to Sainsbury's in Leven..   And that is what we did.   The shop was busy but we didn't have any hold ups and were back at Alice's HQ by midday.  Alice went to prepared lunch.... and dozed off for a few minutes after a busy morrrrrrning.   We had a coffee and chat after lunch before I set off for Ivy.... arriving home about 13.45.   Since then I have had a migraine (weather) and a long doze in front of the tele.   Having a had a braw lunch at Alice's  I only need a sandwich for dinner.  In fact I'll have that \after this update.    

18.30    There's a raw damp feel to the air now (I've been oot at the bucket) so the rain that's forecast for tonight isn't far away.   Hopefully the rain will have moved away by tomorrow morning..... however 'light rain showers' are mentioned in tomorrow's forecast.  I was hoping to have a turn round the villages on the bike tomorrow but only of the weather is kind.   I'm away to make another cuppa before looking for something to watch on the tele.

22.30    I ended up watching 'Father Brown' on Channel 20.... followed by the BBC News on Channel 231.   I enjoyed 'Father Brown'.... the News was depressing.   Now orf to bed to potter around Venice courtesy Donna Leon.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
