a few days) so it's a 'confined to barracks' (or the car) day for me;  lot's of work to do on the computer....and I'll make a batch o' 'Cottage Pies' in the afternoon, so I'm happy.   It's not 'iggzactly' a walk on the beach morning.... but dogs don't know that, and will have their owners out for a 'frolic in the fresh air, regardless of the wind.   'Thick clouds and a fresh breeze is the weather forecast'.   I'm going to have breakfast .... and another cuppa!

10.45    The tautties have been peeled for the afternoon's Cottage Pie making session;  had it been warmer I'd have gone out on the bike now, but it's bitterly cold, so I'll have morrrrrrrning coffee and a bicci.   I'd say that, having looked at the forecast for the weekend, the place to be is anywhere on the West coast:  however, we should get sunny spells on Sunday... with light showers, and the cold Easterly wind.   I could get a lot work done on the computer this weekend.   Maybe some 'ousework.   Orf to put on the kettle.

13.00    The sky had 'brightened up, and I felt 'brave' enough to take a wander up to the seat at the 17th green:   I got as far as the 4th tee where I met, and chatted with Colin who was out for a few holes; as were a couple of girls who were teeing off on the 18th.    I took a few photos.... and decided that it was too cold to sit on the seat so bumbled my way back to Ivy.      

15.30   I've been on the computer and thought I'd have a daunder out to the street to see what was happening ... if anything!    Nothing was 'appening, but I can tell you that it's bitterly cold and definitely not a 'play day'.   In fact it's not going to be a 'play weekend' if the weather forecasters have got it right.   The hatches have been battened, the kettle is 'on' and I am settling down for the evening.   I hope I can find something decent to watch on the tele.

22.30    Friday has been bitterly cold all day.... and Saturday and Sunday more of the same;  plus good chance of light rain on Sunday.   A good weekend to be working inside I'm thinking.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
