Wet and muggy ...

This reminds me that I need a haircut!
the afternoon;  right now it’s  a warm, wet and misty morning;   a good morning for reading a book.   The book I’m reading just now is about India in the middle of the 19th century... the days of the ‘Raj’.... when Britain ruled  South Asia.    It’s a fascinating book.


21.00    I’ve had a busy day.    After the drizzle/rain stopped I went to the beach;  and a lot of other folks did the same.   I like to see the beach with people doing ‘beach things’ .... enjoying themselves each in their own way.    I met Billy (Donaldson) .... he was sitting on the Cockstail rocks because the seats at the Breakwater, where he would normally sit, were all occupied.

This morning.
I couldn’t go out in the afternoon because I was waiting for a delivery (shoes).   The van arrived (about 14.00 I think it was) so I got a coat of polish on them and  thought I might as well break then in.   I did think of going out on the bike but the roads were busy so I went as far as The Hutte.   I don’t know if anyone remembers but 15 months or so ago I had a problem with feeling that I was walking on balloons;  I even went to the Doctor and had my ears checked.... but we couldn’t find anything wrong.  Today, after I put on the new shoes, I had that same feeling.    The shoes I buy have little balloon things on the sole (air pockets they call them) and guess what .... not only do they make me feel  I’m walking on balloons;  I am walking on balloons!    When did I buy my last pair of new shoes?   er.... 15 months ago.   It’s exciting being ‘me’. 

I eventually got the bike out after dinner and went up to Chapel Green.    It is a lovely

evening and there was a lot of activity on the beach, the water and walkers going round Chapel green.   I don’t think I have ever seen the villages as busy as they are just now;  and August is usually busier. 
  
‘M’ isnae on Skype tonight;  well we can’t get connected so I won’t get any New Zealand news.    New Zealand is having the usual politician ailment just now -  scandal!   No ... I am not going to go ‘off on one’ about politicians again.... I’m feeling happy and don’t want to spoil the feeling.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
