Overcast ....

12th April 2022 (Tuesday - Auchnagatt)     08.15 .... it’s overcast but dry;  rain


is mentioned in the forecast and it looks like it won’t be long before it arrives.   I’m going to take walk to the end of the road.... and round the garden while it's dry.

09.00    I’ve been to the end of the drive but it was spitting light rain so abandoned the ‘planned’ walk to the top of the hill;  I had to keep cleaning the camera lens.   There’s a bitterly cold Southeast wind so not really a very pleasant morning to be out.    I’m still hoping for sunny spells, though the forecast does not make pleasant viewing!

19.00    Jackie was going to the Garden Centre  so I went for the run:  Iain was busy with his stamps.   The Garden Centre was fairly busy but the usual ‘buzz’ was lacking;  probably because it was not a particularly bonnie day.   Oh.... the rain that was forecast has arrived so we’re in for a cold and wet evening.... and night.


I’m coming home tomorrow;  I have my booster jab (at the Randolph Wemyss on Thursday.... as does Dod (Gordon).   Dod’s appointment is 20 minutes before mine so I hope to be taken early.   I’ve really enjoyed my pre- Easter break in Auchnagatt.    The weather has been ‘iffy’ but when visiting NTS properties the weather doesn’t matter so much.

‘Pancake’ (Bearded Dragon) has been active:  normally he just hangs around looking like a model of a Bearded Dragon, but today he’s been all over the place;  and I got some bonnie pictures of him in ‘action’.   I imagine he will now  need to rest for a week or two.

I’d better go and pack my bags;  not that there’s much to pack:  most of what I packed was never unpacked.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
