Peaceful ....

 

7th October 2020 (Tuesday)     10.30 .... I’ve been ‘on the go’ since I got up;


  now I am ready to tackle a Soduko in the Hutte,.... and a cuppa.   

I went to the beach at sunrise time;  it was a gorgeous morning,  but cool.   Cool? .... when I was concentrating on the Eastern sky;   behind me, a few of the ‘Elie Blue Tits Swimmers’ were preparing to tackle Elie Bay..  I don’t know how many ladies eventually went swimming.... but I met another lady heading for the beach when I was coming off the beach.    Our Elie (and Earlsferry) girls are tough.   I felt very weak,... and ready for a cuppa.

After the beach I went to ‘the Store’ to pick up a few messages and give the car wheels a wee bit of exercise.

17.00    I did the wee bit shopping, so now I don’t need to worry as to when the delivery van arrives:   I just need to hang around Ivy until it does.    I’ll get out early for the paper, have a quick circumnavigate of the villages, then potter around the garden.  


There doesn’t appear to be any tracking available with this delivery, all I know is that it left Salisbury yesterday afternoon.

The work I did yesterday caught up with me this afternoon;  I fell sound asleep in The Hutte, for nearly an hour.    Cutting back the Clematis will be tomorrow's job.   Jimmy used to say that, if he did too much one day he would sleep a lot the next.   I thought that was because Jimmy was ‘auld’;  this suggest that I am also ‘auld’.   No, that can’t be ... I feel young again.

20.30    I was going to say that I’ve had a lazy day;  but I did have a busy morning, which included making Cottage Pies for the freezer.   I now need to go to Ardross for mince etc;  but not until after the albums have been delivered.  

I see that the pubs in the Central Belt are closing for two weeks;   if ever anything was self inflicted that was:   and ...two or three weeks after they re-open on the 25th the cases


will start to rise again... you don’t need to be Brahan Seer to work that out.

The forecast is good for tomorrow ;  ‘sunny intervals with a moderate breeze’..... and cool especially when exposed to the wind.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
