Quiet morning ....


15th June 2019 (Saturday) .... 07.00     We have an “mostly overcast with a
Misty morning .... but nice.
moderate breeze from the East” beginning to the day;  in fact the sun is trying hard to burn the cloud back, so we could have sunny spells in a wee while.     It’s a nice  morning for doing things morning for doing things .... painting flagpoles for instance. 
I should also get out on the bike sometime today.
09.30    The auld villages are looking good.... and it’s a nice day to come and admire them.   I know this because that is what I did an hour ago;  went out on the bike to circumnavigate, and admire, the Centre of the Universe.     The next mission (after breakfast) will be working .... weeding etc.    I don’t think rain/showers are mentioned in the ‘KY9’ forecast for today so I might go out on the bike in the afternoon.
12.30     Myra phoned to remind me that we had a coffee morning in the kirk hall.... so that is where I spent the morning.    Drinking tea and chatting.    Oh and I won one of the raffle prizes .... a box of After Dinner mints.    This was the annual Episcopal Church ‘CM’. ... sometimes known as ‘Brenda’s Coffee Morning’.

I’m having a ‘lit bite’ lunch before I attack the work ... I might even have ‘50’.  I have been on the go since just before 06.00.... and I do feel drowsy.   Yes I think ‘50’ is called for... my eyelids keep going into sleep mode.
17.00     My eyelids have had a good hours rest and are now flapping like a pair of humming bird wings:  maybe not quite as fast as that, but they’re operational again.     I managed to do a wee bit of weeding then it began to spit rain.... just as I was contemplating going up to Balcarres on the bike.   We’ve had a fairly heavy shower pass over us so Balcarres is off for today.    Before I started typing I browsed through the TV channels and have found what must be the most boring of all programmes ... the Le Mans 24 race.   Right now they have 22hours 11minutes and  48 seconds to go.   I’ll go back onto this channel in

 22 hours to see who wins..... maybe.    It isn’t  being broadcast for the whole 24 hours ..... now that would be really boring.
18.00    The showers have disrupted any plan I might have had for going out on the bike in the evening.....though I might go to the beach.    I’m hoping the showers die out overnight.    It has been a ‘no bad’ day but not how it should be coming up to the summer solstice.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
