Anstruther ....


6th May 2019 (Monday) .... 08.30   From the look of the garden we’ve had a
Anstruther's recently renovated Mercat Cross
shower of rain overnight;  however though the sky is overcast it is beginning to break up, so we should have sunny spells later.    There’s chilly air, but there’s hardly any wind, so no wind chill:  it should be another nice, if cold, day.   I'm going to the Dentist in Anstruther... and, with just alight breeze I should have a walk out on at least one of the piers.

 18.00   Welllll ...we have had a bonnie day;  and it has been warm, even at Crail Harbour:  I went to Crail when I was finished at Anstruther.   I have one small filling to get and have an appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
When I left the Dental Surgery I had a walk along the ‘Folly’ and out on the middle pier.   By the time I’d done all that I was feeling hungry and decided to have a ‘fish supper’... this would be my main meal for the day.   David was working so I caught up with his ‘news’;  and enjoyed my ‘fish supper’    The Restaurant was busy... in fact there was a queue at the door when I left.   Back at the car, with the weather being 
Crail.
‘summer like’ I decided to go to Crail Harbour.   Crail Harbour is always almost guaranteed to produce bonnie photographs:    today it was looking pristine.   And it was busy with visitors.    I met folk from all over the UK down there.    One lady had parked her car up on the Main Road and went to the harbour via ‘the ladder’, which is how I do it.   Mind you the climb back up from the harbour is becoming harder.    I’ve enjoyed my trip to the dentist and the pottering about afterwards.... which included a bumbling home by the ‘back road’.

.We’re forecast to have light rain showers, sunny spells and a moderate breeze (from
Crail.
the east) tomorrow... and it is to remain cold.   I don’t know what I’ll do, I’m feeling ‘mixed up’ with this cold weather;  I want to get on with summer now.
 
I had a ‘slight flap on’ moment this morning:  I though the car was due its MOT on Wednesday.... the day I go to the dentist to have the tooth filled.   It turns out that the MOT date is the 19th May.  I’d better phone and make an appointment to get that done.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
