Low cloud with light drizzle ....

31st May 2023 (Wednesday)      07.00 .... This morning’s ‘Master Plan’ was to


go for the paper by way of Elie Estate on the bike.... but we have low cloud and light drizzle at the moment, so the ‘MP’ was altered.    I went for the paper(s) in the car and will go biking through the estate when the ‘sunny intervals with a moderate breeze’ weather arrives.... as per forecast.

11.00    Having been to The Store (Ainster) I am now well ready for a bonnie afternoon.    The sky is still overcast but he drizzle has stopped.    I’m planning to go out in the afternoon when the sun has broken through.    That said.... the cloud could persist along the East Coast.

I met Elizabeth in ‘The Store’:  she is looking well and.... looking forward to a holiday in the Lake District with Graham and friends.   It’s good seeing that things are getting back to ‘normal’; even the East Neuk being busier with holiday folk is good.... but I’ll have to get used to the roads being busier.   I think I deserve morning coffee now.


16.30   It has taken a long time but the sun has eventually broken through and we have a bonnie evening ahead.   I’ve been busy in The Hutte and garden, so will have the evening to go out and ‘play’.   There’s still a light breeze from the Easterly direction (in fact we’re going to have winds from that direction for a few days) so slightly cooler than it should be for this time of year;  the West coast is the place to be where the temperatures are in the low 20'sC.   We’re at 16C.

20.30   The evening did turn out as I expected, and, feeling in the need of some exercise, after sitting in the Hutte most of the afternoon, I got the bike out and had a run round the villages.   This was a change of time (and light) for me and I managed to take a few photographs.   It was pleasant, even with the East wind, .... but it was cooler than I thought it would be, suggesting that haar wasn’t far away. 

I don’t have a ‘plan’ for tomorrow other than go for the paper first thing..   There might


be a site meeting at Ferry Lodge: I don’t think I’ll be expected to be there but I’ll hang around Ivy just in case they do want to explain anything.   I could be doing with a rest day’.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
