Calm kind of mornin'....

14th May 2023 (Sunday)      09.00 .... We have a bonnie morning .... a good


mornin’ for doing the Coastal Path;  so I went down to the beach!   Actually I was standing at the back door when 6 swans flew over.... and they were in landing mode,  so I went down to see if I could get a photograph.   I got a photo but the tide was well out ... and so were they.  I see that the builders have arrived  at Ferry Lodge;  at the speed they work I imagine the walls will be done ‘in nae time’.  “Flap on” mode has kicked in; I need an early morning coffee.



21.00     Although I’ve been in ‘slight flap on state’ most of the day I have actually enjoyed myself:  mostly sitting in The Hutte with the pencils.   I went for the paper.... in the car ‘cos I thought it was a bit iffy for me on the bike.   The builders are making good progress next door; they’ll probably have a house built, before I finish all the drawings I need.    Mind you I bought the Sunday Post today, so had a few breaks to do some reading.... so it wasn’t all ‘work’.  


Tomorrow is Alice’s birthday so I must go along to Methil and ‘annoy’ her on her especial day.  We had intended going to Dysart.... well I had intended that we go to Dysart... but the Harbour Master’s House doesn’t ‘open’ until 11.00 and we need to be back at Alice’s by midday.   Dysart and the Harbour Masters House will do for another day.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
