Damp ....

19th November 2022 (Saturday)    08.30.... There’s a touch of dampness


in the air again.... which is disappointing ‘cos the roads were dry earlier:  in fact I was thinking of getting the bike out to go for the paper.   Anyway I’ve been for the paper.... and down to the harbour:  the rain was heavy then, so I didn’t take any photographs.   Ye Gods... if this weather continues I’ll have forgotten how to take a photograph.   Never mind.... we could get a few sunny spells later, though 'strong winds and light rain' is the weather forecast.

20.00     I wouldn’t call the weather we’ve had today ‘the best’.... but, compared to the past couple o’ days it has been ‘bonnie.    Iain, who had intended travelling down yesterday, but cancelled because of the inclement weather, arrived at 10 o’clock this morrrrrrrning.   Since then he has a fixed the shower unit (which had been out of order since Wednesday).... so I am happy to say that I am ‘clean’ again.  I have a bath ....but  they are expensive things to fill nowadays.   Just a reminder;  all this extra money we’re paying is going into somebody’s pocket!


Iain and I have been busy today;   Iain fixing things and me puttin’ the kettle on for cuppas,.... and producing food at regular intervals.    We never got out with the cameras though I took a couple of shots of a blue patch in the sky.

There’s a warning out for more rain spreading our way overnight, and be with us until tomorrow afternoon.    Never mind .... ‘nae dust’ to land on the computer monitor screen.   That’s where a lot of it seems tae end up!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
