Overcast with showers ....

7th October 2022 (Friday)   08.45.... the sky is overcast just now but it should


clear away to sunny spells with a moderate breeze by mid morrrrning.   I’ve been for the paper (in the car) and had a turn down to the harbour;  Stuart (HM) was busy, at the Sailing Club Notice Board, so I caught up with ‘arbour news, then took a few photos.   I think this could be another stay at home day; I’m feeling brighter than I was yesterday but not frolicsome.




15.45    A lot of this day has been spent resting in The Hutte.... doing Sudoku’s without falling asleep   I’d already done the sleeping thing.... in front of the TV.    I have done a wee bit of ‘ousework;  but I can’t get into a ‘working’ mood.... so I’m going to have a cuppa then have a wander to the beach with the camera.   Mind you that depends on any showers being far enough away for the contents to not bother us... but near enough for bonnie pictures. 


19.45    There was a brisk breeze on the beach but I (and everyone on the beach) was well wrapped up so the wind wasn’t a problem;  and we had a bonnie ‘light’ (but no spectacular clouds), so I enjoyed myself with the camera in spite of feeling one degree under.  

Alice, and her friend Fiona,  are going away (on Sunday) for a week, on a coach tour to the York area, so I’m hoping to be fit enough to go along tomorrow to ‘annoy’ her before she goes.    I won’t go if I’m feeling unwell;  I wouldn’t want Alice to have this when she’s on holiday.

Tomorrow’s weather is going to be a repeat of today’s according to the forecast;  what I


do all depends on how this cold is; going by the way I feel just now I doubt if it will be ‘clear’ tomorrow.   I’m orf to make the chocolate and find something to watch on the tele.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
