Early morning showers ........

16th October 2022 (Sunday)  07.00.... I’m fired up and ready to go.... but


there’s a rain shower passing over just now so ‘going’ is on hold for a while;  the forecast is good and we should be basking in sunshine by mid morning.   I’m hoping to go out on the bike sometime today..... after the air warms up a bit.   

17.30    I’ve had a reasonably active day;  but the asthma kicked in mid morning and that put the brakes ‘on’ the planned activities.   However  it cleared up after lunch; I don’t know what was in the air but it gave me a ‘rest day’ that’s for sure.   I made Eve’s Pudding .... this time with  more apples than recommended in the recipe so that I ended up with a better ‘apple to sponge’ ratio.   Hey I like that; very Delia Smith.

I did think of going out on the bike but decided that would be a step too far, for the breathing tubes.... so I had a short run in the car.   I must get up to Balcarres soon, preferably on the bike, to get the autumn colours.   We’re supposed to be having ‘strong wind’ tomorrow so I’m hoping it doesn’t strip too many leaves off the trees.

I’m feeling brighter again after a tricky old day.   The washing has been brought in and will be ironed this evening when watching the tele.

21.15    With the asthma mysteriously ‘kicking in’ I’ve had a funny old day;  however I’ve enjoyed myself  but would have been happier if I’d been able to go out on the bike or down to the beach.  From what I saw on the Country File ‘next week’ forecast.... Tuesday looks like being the best day for biking.  As I mentioned above, tomorrow is going to be


‘sunny with strong winds’.   I’m hoping to go to the beach at sunrise time, before the wind freshens; but that depends on how I’m feeling.   I’m feeling frolicsome now;  just when I’m going to make the chocolate!   I’ll put the TV on and have a look at the News; it, the UK News, has been entertaining lately.   Actually I think it's time we had another Reformation.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
