Slightly damp ....

6th September 2022 (Tuesday)     08.15 .... the sky is overcast after some


overnight rain, but the forecast  for KY9 is, ‘thundery showers with a moderate breeze’ by lunch time.   Thundery showers should give us sunny spells with interesting clouds;  I’m thinkin’ it could be a motivating kind o’ day....with the chance of precipitation near enough to enjoy the clouds, but far enough away to miss the precipitation.   It’s breakfast time.

20.30    Welll... the sunny spells were few and far between.... and we got our share of the precipitation;  however the clouds were not overly exciting.... not until the evening when a big storm moved in off the North Sea making for the Dundee area.   That was impressive:  unfortunately I was in the car (and it was raining) so didn’t get any photos.   The ‘red sky at night etc.’ last night was ever so slightly wrong!

Alice and I cancelled the Pittenweem Braes plan and had lunch (provided by Alice), then went to Kellie Castle, where we spent an enjoyable hour on a guided tour, with ‘Barbara’ as the Guide, .....an excellent and edifying way to spend a dull afternoon.   We went back to Ivy and had a cuppa and blether, followed by denner at 17.00 before I took Alice back home.... after a very enjoyable day.

There’s only one set of temporary traffic lights on the way to Leven;  operating on the A915 from the top of Largo Brae to the Lower Largo junction at the beginning of Lundin Links.   The Lundin Links Hotel has been converted into a heap of bricks, so that part of the A915 is fully operational again.

Today’s  weather was a bit of a letdown;  the only exciting cloud I saw was the one I mentioned.... but it was spectacular.    We’re forecast to have ‘light cloud and a moderate breeze’ tomorrow... probably with the chance of light showers now and again.  I will be looking for sunny spells and interesting clouds.   I am going to a crafty thing in Letham Glen tomorrow morning;  it will be different from my normal activities and I look forward to seeing what it is all about, and hope to contribute something to the morning.... even if it’s only to chat and have a cuppa with somebody.   I’ll look out something to take with me though it will probably be research stuff.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
