Quiet start to the day ....

29th September 2022 (Thursday)    06.30 ....The Eastern sky is starting to


brighten;  and I am having another cuppa before taking a wander to the beach.  The sun appears over the horizon at 07.10 but whether that event will be visible is doubtful;  the Aberdour weather cam shows a bank of low cloud towards the East.... however we could get lucky if there’s a ‘hole’ in the cloud bank.    Actually, it looks like being a nice enough day....there’s a light breeze from the SE and .... the air feels slightly warmer.

08.30    It wasn’t the most exciting sunrise this morning;  however, if the weather forecast turns out as predicted it is a bonnier sunrise than we’ll have tomorrow morning.   As you’d expect at this time of the morning, the beach was quiet.... only myself and three dogs walking their ‘humans’.   It's a nice morning for being out actually.

Leven Golf Course.

19.30   I went to Leven to visit Alice.... and, after lunch Alice had to visit a friend to the Leven Beach Caravan Park, so we louped intae the car and went to Leven Beach.   Alice went off to visit her friend, and, as it was a gorgeous afternoon I had a walk round with the camera.   I didn’t find a way to access the actual beach until we were ready to go back to Alice’s.  So I have been a happy and busy boy today;  but I must remember to take a mono pod with me so that I can get really sharp photos of the raised beaches of Kincraig etc.

22.15   Having just seen Friday’s weather forecast (wet and windy) I’m thinkin’ tomorrow would be a good day to do some ‘ousework;  or hibernate until Saturday morning.   The early part of the morning might be reasonable....before the worst of the weather arrives; but I doubt if it will be biking weather.

The Ferry Road ‘oles are ready to be filled in tomorrow.   The ‘filling in’ team arrives


this morning but one of the ‘oles had still to be repaired, so they went off to another job.   The new bit of sewage pipe has now been done so it is all good for tomorrow; apart from the weather.  

I’ve enjoyed myself today.... and I’m well ready for the bedtime chocolate.    I’ll see what the weather is like at 06.00 tomorrow before deciding if I’ll go to the beach for sunrise.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
