Feeling playful ....

2nd July 2022 (Saturday)   07.30 .... We have a blue sky coming over from the

West after overnight rain;  it’s raining just now but sunny spells are on their way:  light rain showers with a moderate breeze is the forecast.   A fourteen hour gap between this shower and the next one would be good.

11.45    It’s a nice day... but not really as summery as it should be in July.   There’s a brisk breeze from the West bringing in a varied selection of clouds.... some of them potential showers.   I took the car when I went for the paper because I was in need of milk;  can’t have Cornflakes without milk!    All is good in Elie and Earlsferry though I imagine the villages might be busy in a wee while;  this would have been the start of the Edinburgh Holiday fortnight; though that no longer applies, the beginning of July is still recognised as the start of the summer holiday season.   Must go ‘slight flap on’... Stage 2 (le Tour) is on this afternoon.

19.30    It was a bit wet for working in the garden in the afternoon, but I have done a wee bit this evening.   The spaces between the showers became longer as the afternoon went on and it’s a bonnie evening now.... and the garden dry.  I might do a bit more in the garden after a refreshing cuppa.

I had Stage 2 of the Tour in the afternoon, which  was much more interesting (scenic) that yesterday’s was;  the weather was ‘sunny with a frisky wind’.   The Stage wasn’t without incident, with a fairly big crash not far from the finish;  but most of the the main contenders contested the sprint finish.  Exciting stuff.

21.30    The new COVID variants are causing a lot of problems... especially here in Scotland.   It means that the elderly, and folk with underlying health problems, are going to have to take extra precautions to stay safe.   It’s the beginning of the summer holiday season so avoiding catching the new variants is not going to be easy;  it will mean a return to ‘self isolating’ again.... not a happy prospect:  but probably a necessary one.

Ferry Road has been busy with traffic all day so I assume the villages are also busy.

I’ll go out on the bike early tomorrow morning.... assuming it isn’t too cold or windy.
