Very quiet morrrrrrning ....

23rd May 2021 (Sunday)     08.30 ....Elie was still a-slumber when I went for

.... not the rush hour.

the paper;  except Cath in the paper shop.   Cath was frisky and happy;  and she set a challenge for the customers .... by moving the hand-wash setup from the left to the right side of the shop entrance.    You will have guessed that I remembered to stop at the ‘paper shop’ this morrrrrrrning.

The harbour very peaceful, though one bloke did do a circuit of the parking area on a motor bike (a quiet one) which was a change .... I think he was just out for a breath of fresh air.  I had a stroll round the granary then down to the boats (the tide was full out) before going back to the car when  a few spits and spots o’ rain fell from a passing cloud.   We could have showers in the afternoon.

17.00     I have had a ‘rest day’;  the furthest I have been since going for the paper this morning, is the front gate.    Iain let me see how to use the camera in ‘macro mode’ (I had just been zooming ‘in’), so I had some fun in the garden.    There was a slight breeze that made it difficult with the Welsh poppies (they move with a breath of wind), but I am happy with the results.    I’ll go up to Balcarres Estate in the next few days.

The weather has been a bit mixed today.... with spits and spots of rain now and again, which is why I never went out on the bike.  I was also guilty of falling asleep when helping Wycliffe solve a murder in Cornwall.    I feel lively now but the sky is looking ‘damp’ at present;   so I’ll see what I can find to fall asleep in .... watch on the tele.






19.30      It was spitting rain when I went out to lock up ‘The Hutte’; the forecast is for us to have some rain overnight before clearing away in the morning.... and tomorrow should be brighter than it was today.   I should get out on the bike....if the weather is suitable;  and I do feel well rested after a lazy day.   Right now I’m going to watch today’s kirk service on YouTube, then I’ll settle down in front on the tele with a cuppa.

21.00    There’s nothing I want to watch on the tele so I think I’ll have an early night in

bed with my book.  I see that the rain has arrived  and should be away by the time I get ‘up’;   I have no ‘plan’ for tomorrow....  but I would like to get up to Balcarres Estate to macro some of the flowers.  Orf to make the bedtime chocolate.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
