A quiet morning ....

17th May 2021 (Monday)      11.30 .... The ‘paper run’ was done at 06.30, in the


car because I was short of milk.    Since then I have been up to Chapel Green on the bike;   and the bike battery has been charged so I am now ready to go again.... but where I go to has yet to be decided.    We have a lovely day, but showers are mentioned in the forecast for our area... so I’ll have to keep an eye on the weather; which will dictate where I actually go.   It’s not cold today... and there’s only a light breeze so it’s good day for biking or gardening  ....  gardening if the roads are busy.





16.00    Tomorrow will be a ‘rest day because, most of this afternoon I have been working in the garden.... and enjoying it (that's not good).  The ‘broon’ bucket is half full of weeds that have been detached from Mother Earth;  the plan being to tidy up the outside seating area so that we can sit there, when the warm weather comes.  There are showers going around but we have been lucky so far.... though one, that passed by not long ago, wasn’t very far away.   The bike battery is fully charged and I may go out this evening, depending on the shower situation.


22.00    We’ve had our share of showers this evening.... and I have had a quiet evening helping Poirot solve a couple of crimes.  In fact, on both occasions I fell asleep and missed the end, so he had to solve them by himself.    Still .... it has been a restful evening.

I thought of going down to the beach at 21.05 because there was a busy sky....but it was raining so that put an end to that idea.     I made the bedtime chocolate instead;  I must say that, after my couple of catnaps, I feel very frisky, which is not perfect for going to bed:  I’ll do some stuff on the computer for a wee while;  I’ve watched enough tele for this evening.

The weather forecaster was saying that we are in for a spell of unsettled weather for the next few days;  sunshine and showers, some of them thundery.   That forecast usually means interesting clouds.... as long as the contents falls somewhere else.    

I have enjoyed today and will continue tidying up the outside seating space tomorrow;  I


think the showers that are going to miss us, but give us good pictures, are going to be in the afternoon.   Oh ... the House Martins and Swallows are back.... I’ve seen more House Martins than Swallows, but both are here.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
