Lovely morning ....


21st November 2019 (Thursday)     09.30 .... The beach was quiet this

morning;   only me, and my Heron pal at the Cockstail Rocks.... so we had the whole beach to ourselves.    It’s a bonnie morning mostly overcast but the sun is trying hard to burn its way through the thin layer of cloud so we could have a few sunny spells.   I’m seriously thinking of going out on the bike because, although it’s breezy it isn’t as cold as it has been.



12.30    Work continues apace on the new roundabout at the War Memorial.... in fact the job will be finished today by the look of it.    The pedestrian crossing won’t have lights so nae buttons, which is a disappointment, but it will have the pimply (tactile) slabs for people with poor

eyesight.    The first impression I had this morning was that ‘arbour ‘ouse was cut off because of work vehicles and we weren’t going to be able to have our morrrrrrrning coffee;   major ‘flap on’ state cut in.   But that was not the case and all was well on the coffee front!   And the entertainment one too!

The air has turned cooler since I was on the beach.... I doubt if I’ll bother taking the bike out after lunch.   Otherwise it’s a bonnie day.

15.45    Welll that was really clever Alberto!    I went out for a run in the car after lunch and got back to Ivy in time to have a cuppa before going along to the ‘Drop in Cafe.   I fell fast asleep in front of the tele and woke up at 15.30 with a three quarters full mug of tea on the coffee table .... too late to get organised for the ‘Cafe’.    Silly boy .... I made myself a fresh cuppa and switched on the computer.
19.38    There’s   dampness in the air tonight (I’ve been putting the bucket out).   The

hatches are battened down and I have the kettle ‘on’ ready to settle down in front of the computer....  and the tele (“Last of the Summer Wine”) .... for the evening.    I’ve had an enjoyable day today apart from missing the ‘Cafe’.   Tomorrow is going to be cloudy with the chance of light rain... that explains the damp feel to the air tonight..... so computer it will be.      With a break for the paper and morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
