Wet....

2nd April 2024 (Tuesday)    21.00    I tried to upload a video onto 'The Hutte' and lost everything

I'd already written;  this is a short update, to let you know that all is well again at Ivy.   I eventually got out in the car and went to Methil to visit Alice.... and enjoyed lunch with Alice and her nephew Lucas.   
We took time out from catching up with all the Methil and Buckhaven news (Lucas lives in Buckhaven) to pick up our watches that had been 'in' getting new batteries fitted.
The car is now 'moored up' in the disabled parking bay a the 'Toon Hall';  not the best place in wet weather but I shouldn't get blocked in there.  
 Everything appears to be working as it should again... but I won't upload the video until tomorrow.... when I find out  where I went wrong'.   The video is of the journey by car, from Lundin Links to Elie Harbour.   At the harbour Jimmy's car (as it was then) is moored up at the Sailing Club.... where we would be having morning coffee.   

This has been a stressful weekend for me and it will take a few more days for me to unwind and relax completely;   however 'all's well that ends well'.... and it has ended well!   I'm a 'happy boy'.
I've just noticed an 'Insert Video' button among the buttons above so I'll have another go at uploading the video tomorrow.   The link was sent to me by Les, a friend in Australia!   It's a brilliant video... as you 'might' see when I have another go at uploading it 'ra morra'.   I'm too tired to do it tonight.  Orf to make the Horlicks!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
