Bright and breezy .....

7th April 2024 (Sunday)     09.00 .... It's a beautiful morrrrrrrning.... mostly sunny with quite a few


shower clouds around;  actually we will catch a few showers because I hung out a washing.   It's only towels so I'll leave them out until they dry;  we're due a dry day in the next six weeks or so.      I'm going to visit Alice today; she's always 'happy', and I need to unwind after the Easter holidays.   It's breakfast time.

18.30  At last we have definite proof of climate change;  I had a washing out and it didn't rain!    Now I am worried that we could be in for a long, hot and dry summer.   I'm a 'happy boy'.    I enjoyed my morning with Alice, who is a 'happy girl' because she had washing out too!   We didn't need to o to the shops so we just sat and chatted, with a cuppa and large portion of carrot cake!     The time passed swiftly and it was 'lunch time' .... and still nae sign of Babs ... oops Barbara ... going for her paper.   As is normal we  had a mug o' coffee before I set off for home.   The roads were quiet going into the East Neuk, but busy going the other way... this must be the end of the Easter break.   I'm contemplating going for a short walk after this update;  before settling down to watch the snooker.


22.30   I went down to the beach for a short walk, but it was to windy...and cold.... to linger stay there for long.   The beach was quiet with only a couple of dogs dragging their owners out for some fresh air.   Tomorrow is going to be another bonnie day ....  but not as windy!   Tuesday?....  a Yellow warning for heavy rain!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
