Beautiful morrrrrrrrrning .....

 25th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.30 .... we have a gorgeous, albeit slightly cooler than I'd like,

morrrrrning;  a good morning for doing a bit o' the Coastal Path.   I might 'do' the Chapel Green bit in the afternoon.  The paper has been uplifted, the harbour visited, a few photographs taken;  I'm ready to do stuff.   I'll switch on the kettle.


19.30    It has been another lovely day .... but cold.   Alice and I did our shopping  at Sainsbury's and, when loading the messages into the car a light shower of hailstones passed over.   There's definite wintry feel to the air just now.   Tomorrow is going to be another cold day with the chance of showers.

We had a short run down to the former Buckhaven harbour;  it's hard to believe that it was once almost as picturesque as Crail.   Unfortunately it fell foul of the greed for coal and the ravages of re development in the 1960's.  AS with all harbours it was cold at Buckhaven!


Julie, (my next door neighbour) is sorting out Ferry Lodge  now that the building work is nearing completion.  There are a few finishing touches, inside and outside, to be done.... and it should be totally done by mid summer.   (Assuming we get a summer.)   I'll miss the activity when all the workmen are done, especially the Rural Developments 'Team';  they have been really helpful.  It has been an interesting time;  but I guess I'll soon slip back into having my afternoon 'kip' in The Hutte.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
