Overcast and cold ....

1st April 2024 (Monday)    09.00 .... The sky is overcast, but there is the odd hole in it that lets a


blink of sunshine through now and again.... usually somewhere else;  but it makes an interesting photograph.   The most noticeable change in the weather, from yesterday, is the temperature!   There's a frisky NE wind.... and it's cold.   Rain is forecast to move in from the South, in the afternoon.   

16.15   The change in the weather has been disappointing; but I had a 'major flap on' so braved the cold wind and went down to the beach with the camera;  even on cold grey days I begin to relax as soon as I start taking photographs. Light rain did begin to blow in the wind at one point but it never came to anything and ended up with a lot of interesting shots to play with this evening.

Ferry Road has been busy... presumably with people going back home after a mostly sunny weekend at Elie and Earlsferry.  I enjoyed the action on the golf course yesterday; that, for me was the best day of the holiday weekend.   I had planned to visit Alice today, but nearly had my 'nose' taken off trying to extricate the car from a tight parking space, so had a quick change of 'plan';  I hope to visit Alice tomorrow.


20.30    I've had a restful evening watching 'Father Brown' .... now I'm well ready to have a cuppa and do some work on the computer.                  I had to go out to the bucket a wee while ago;  my word the rain, which reached us about 16.00, is seriously heavy.... and now wet, windy and cold;  and forecast to be the same tomorrow, but the rain is to be 'lighter'.

22.45   The 'plan' is to visit Alice tomorrow (assuming I can extricate the car safely) and catch up with her Easter news.   The roads are going to be bad, with flooding in all the usual places .... and potholes will look like puddles; so will be a tricky drive.   Orf to make the 'orlicks.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
