Bright and beautiful ....

 23rd April 2024 (Tuesday)    "Happy St George's Day to all my friends in England".

08.00.... We have a beautiful start to St George's Day in Elie and Earlsferry.... and the forecast is good for
the whole of today.   Might need to unearth the sun cream!    Although bright and sunny there is a cool breeze from the Northerly direction.... but it's a light breeze so the wind chill is low:  the temperature forecast to get up to 12C.   I might go up to Chapel Green on the bike after morrrrrrrning coffee.

10.00    This was to be 'rest day', but I hung out a washing because it's a good drying day now that the breeze has freshened.   It also feel colder thanks to the wind chill.   Most of my time has been spent watching the News;  it's depressing on all 'fronts'.... and  I've been reading the update about the plan of action for our local kirks, Kinneuchar and Elie.   Elie Kirk has to be 'Sold' by 2027 with the future of Kinneuchar still to be finally decided; but it is hoped that it  can also be sold.... by 2027.   It's all change right enough!


17.00    It has been a lovely day but the wind has been chilly.    I went to the bottle bank in the morning, then came home by way of St Monans, Colinsburgh, Kinneuchar... and Ferry Road.  Today's photos were taken from one of the seats at Woodhaven.   It was to chilly to go out on the bike. ... and a threat of showers.   Luckily we never got one.... and the washing was bone dry when I brought it in a few minutes ago.

This has mostly been a 'lazy' day as per plan;  and my knee feels better for it..... but I did a wee bit o' work in the garden. I already feel much better after this 'lazy' day....tomorrow is going to be another 'rest day'!

20.00    Jings.... it feels like we're going back into winter:  I've just been out at the bucket and it does not feel like Spring;  but the apple tree is in blossom so it must be Spring!   It has been cold but, for some unknown reason, I have enjoyed myself.   Tomorrow is going to be another sunny but cool day.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
