Sunny spells ....

4th April 2024 (Thursday)     08.45 .... the rain has moved  away and we have a mix of light clouds


and blue sky this morrrrrning;  blue patches mean sunny spells now and again.   There's a light breeze from the ENE so the air is chilly .... but it will feel warmer in July ... oops... a wee while.   It is going to be really warm on Saturday!    I've had a good, restful night, and didn't get up until 07.45.... (with one comfort break at 02.15).   I've had breakfast... now I need another cuppa.  'Flap on'... I'm feeling excitable.

15.00   I went and put George's bucket out... then up to the golf course to get a few action shots.  Having done all that I ten came home by way of Rotten Row, were I met Ken (who was contemplating taking Irene's shopping out of the car boot)... then Irene came out and Ken stopped contemplating and did start to to take in the shopping.   While Ken was doing that, Irene and I caught up with loads o' local News.  Eventually spits and spots o' rain came over and we went our separate ways.   The rain didn't last long but there could be more light showers by the look o' the sky.

19.45   I've had a quiet afternoon working on the computer and watching the TV.    No matter how many times I've seen 'Night Mail' I always watch it as if I've never seen it before.   It was made by the GPO Film Unit in 1936, .... maybe the age has something to do with it.   Anyway that was one of the 'documentaries' that I watched.

It has been chilly today but at least we had spells of blue sky.   Already the sky is clouding over for our next batch of wet weather;  due to come in overnight and be with us most of the day.   The weekend is going to be warmer with mixed wet and windy weather.

22.30    I'm thinking that tomorrow might be a 'work' day if the weather forecast turns out as per

forecast.   In fact Saturday could be the same, but much warmer....with Sunday, being 'very windy with showers'.   Not a weekend for me going out on the bike.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
