Warm with showers ....

now (and have been overnight) are going to clear by mid morning to give us long sunny intervals with a fresh breeze.....  and another warm day.   The original ‘plan’ was to go out on the bike early, but the showers scuppered that plan.   I’ll go out on the bike in the afternoon or evening;  right now I’m going to have breakfast.

21.30   We had 23C on the garden thermometer this afternoon; too hot for me going out.....  so I did the ironing.   It had been bonnie summer’s day... and they have been few and far between lately.  Unfortunately it’s back to unsettled weather tomorrow.

I went to Leven to do a shopping in the morning:  I went to Sainsbury’s and got the few bits and pieces I wanted then met Alice and Karen at Starbucks to have a cuppa.  Starbuck’s is OK, but nothing like a the local coffee shop;  I can take the car up Leven High Street now that it has been reopened (after the fires last year) and use a ‘local’ cafe.

I’ve been feeling active today.... but the heat stopped me being active during the hottest part of the day.  I worked on the ‘Kinneuchar project’ once the air had cooled.  


The roads are always busy nowadays;  I guess that’s good for the East Neuk businesses, but the “come to the East Neuk and take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life” is sort of lost when it’s full of hustling and bustling drivers.   Mind you, I meet a lot of interesting people to talk to nowadays so I’m happy.  

There’s a ‘high chance of precipitation’ first thing tomorrow morning but the afternoon should be bright and sunny with showers;  that means an ‘intermittent chance of precipitation’.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
