Lovely, calm and misty, morning.....

10th August 2023 (Thursday)    10.30 .... It’s a bonnie, balmy, humid


 morning.... and I have been out on the bike, with the camera enjoying it.   Activity happening all around and I have a lot of photographs to sort out.    Although overcast and misty just now it’s warm.... and the sun should burn off the cloud in the afternoon so it should be even warmer then!.     I’m ready for morning coffee!



17.30    The sun eventually broke through and we now have a gorgeous, sunny and warm, evening;  the temperature on the garden thermometer is at 23C and there’s only a breath o’ a breeze so it is warm.   I imagine that the beach will have been busy.  The washing I hung out first thing is near enough dry.

The two late nights I’ve had have caught up with me and, when working in the Hutte, I kept dozing off... so didn’t achieve very much.  I did have a conversation with ‘Blob’ who made a brief appearance.  When moulting he tends to ‘lie low’.


19.30      I have the feeling that it’s going to be one of those uncomfortably warm nights;  I’ve been putting the bucket out, and although the sky has clouded over the air is humid and warm.   Tomorrow’s weather is going to be ‘warm, with sunny intervals with a fresh breeze’.... sunnier than it has been today; in fact bonnie holiday weather.   The weekend is going to be unsettled... sunny spells and showers....Sunday being the better of the two days.   At the moment it looks like we could have some overnight showers.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
