Damp ....

1st August 2023 (Tuesday)     08.00 .... I won’t be going out on the bike until


the afternoon;  by that time the, long awaited, ‘brighter spells’ (and light rain showers) should have arrived.   August has started with the same weather that July ended with.... “overcast, wet and cold for this time of year”.    The wind is from the Northeast.   It’s a good drawing or shopping kind o’ mornin’.   For some strange reason, it seems to be a better 'breathing' morning;  but the weather is more or less the same as yesterday when my breathing was definitely 'not good'.

09.30   Sometimes the sky appears to be brightening up, and I contemplate going to the beach;  but the sky thickens in again and we get another spell of heavy drizzle.  I’ll have another cuppa and do some more drawing, then see how the weather is after that.    I need some exercise today.


19.00   The afternoon turned out lovely... sunny and warm.   There was a breeze but not cold (unless you were on the beach).  I had a walk to the beach just as the sky was clearing and got some bonnie sky photos.... and photos of the activity in Williamsburgh.    The old gas mains is corroded and will replaced later; in the meantime they are repairing it where required.

I did some drawing before, and after, lunch then settled down to watch some football.   The women are beginning to act like the men.... spitting and rolling about looking for a foul;  that sort of thing.   Anyway I fell asleep and missed most of it.   I had a cuppa then went out on the bike;  only round The Ferry as the bike battery was low.   That reminds me I must charge it (the battery) tomorrow.

The holiday makers were out, all over the place, enjoying the sun;  everywhere I went I met people enjoying the ‘holiday weather’; afternoon.   Unfortunately it’s going to be damp tomorrow morning.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
