Lovely morning ....

14th August 2023 (Monday)   08.30 .... It’s a bonnie, calm morning;  a good


‘play day’.    I haven’t been out yet but will take a turn up to Chapel Green after breakfast.    ‘Sunny intervals with a gentle breeze’ is the weather forecast;  should be a good drying day, so I have a washing going through the machine. 

10.00   Clouds are starting to appear.... and my washing is on the line.   I’m thinkin’ showers could come our way in the afternoon.   I’ve been up to Chapel Green (on the bike.... and had breakfast.   Now I’m ready for another cuppa before going along to Methil to visit Alice.  We’re going to a Coffee afternoon in the Scoonie Care Home.



19.30   It has been a gorgeous day;  sunny and warm/hot with a light cooling breeze.   I imagine the beach must have been busy.    After a big lunch at Alice’s, I had ‘50’ then we visited the Scoonie Care Home and had coffee/tea with a few of the residents two of them being friends of Alice.  Irene is Izzy’s (Alice’s daughter) mother in law.   Cheryl, one of the carers, had made chocolate cake and it was absolutely ‘light as  a feather’ .... and very very tasty.    Homemade chocolate cake doesn’t have calories.   You didn’t know that?   Welll.... I don’t think they have very many calories!   Just before Alice and I came away Cheryl gave me a container with a piece of the cake and an Angel Cake in it.  Alice go the Angel Cake... as a reward for putting up with me all afternoon!

I arrived back at Ivy about 16.45.... and promptly fell sound asleep for about 45 minutes.  I’ve had sandwiches and chocolate cake for dinner and now ready for a quiet evening in front of the tele.

21.00    I’ve had an enjoyable day in spite of being awfie tired most of the time

(weather).   I couldn't have been very good company for Alice.... she's always happy.  In fact I had a migraine an hour ago so should have a really good sleep tonight;  and be frightfully frisky tomorrow.   I certainly wisnae ‘frightfully frisky’ today!   The bike has a fully charged battery for tomorrow morning;  and the weather forecast is good;  much the same as today with clouds building up after midday.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
