Autumnal morning .....

9th August 2023 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... There’s a fresh autumnal feel to the


air this morning.... a nice morning for going out to play.     I was late in bed last night and slept late this morning; however I feel lively but haven’t been out on the bike yet.    The sun is making inroads on the early morrrrrning cloud so we should have a bonnie, but cool in the fresh breeze, day by mid morning.   I’ll bike up to have morning coffee with Heather, Ray and Alistair;  and come home by a circuitous route to empty the bike battery.    Tomorrow is going to warmer.... more like the temperatures we  would normally have at this time of year. 

14.40   I enjoyed morrrrrrrrrrrrning coffee’, at Beaufort Cottage, with Heather and Alistair;  catching up with their ‘news’... followed by a wander down the garden.   From the human perspective, the summer weather has been mostly disappointing; but it has been an excellent summer for roses!  They’ve been producing flowers in abundance.  Actually the weather has been disappointing today so far.... mostly overcast with a cool (for the time of year) breeze.   It looks like the sun might be bursting through now:  if so I’ll go out on the bike ‘cos I  only went as far as Beaufort Cottage in the morning;  it was spitting rain at that time!   I’ve been ‘resting’ in (front of the tele) so will have a wake up cuppa, then get the bike out once the sun breaks through.  Hopefully we’re in for a decent afternoon and evening.


21.00   I got the bike out and went up to Chapel Green to get a few 'sun setting over the cliffs' photos;  that was a failed mission as the clouds moved in and obscured the sun.   However, having spent a lot of time on the computer today, I enjoyed the exercise.   Tomorrow is going to be ‘dry with variable amounts of cloud at first, then the sunny and warm in the afternoon’.    I’ll go for the paper first thing then charge up the bike battery, and got out again in the afternoon.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
