Nice morning .....

19th August 2023 (Saturday)     09.30 .... It’s a nice morning; sunny spells

with a fresh easterly breeze..... but cool for the middle of August.    I haven’t been for the paper... for some reason Ferry Road was busy at ‘my time’ so I decided to go out later in the afternoon.... after the traffic settles down.    When I first looked out (05.00) it was raining and went bad to bed, eventually getting ‘up’ at 06.30.   Since then I have been busy with.... ‘ousework, breakfast, and multiple cuppas;  now I am ready to go to Methil and annoy Alice.

20.00    Alice made a really tasty chicken salad for lunch;  it was the way she did the bits of chicken that made it so tasty;  (there’s not much you can do with ‘green stuff’ to make it tasty).   I’ll buy the appropriate bits of chicken (not breasts... smaller bits than that) and have a go sometime this week. 

I haven’t been the most active person today;  even along at Methil I wanted to catnap.  Last night I was restless in bed because of the temperature, and that must have made me tired.   When I got back home I fired up the tele to watch the World Championship Athletics from Budapest... and fell sound asleep.   I’m feeling in the mood to go out to play now but will leave that until tomorrow morrrrrrrrrrrning.   The weather forecast is good for tomorrow so I should get ‘up and out’ early.   I’ve seen a lot of new holiday makers wandering around this evening so the villages are busy with new visitors to chat to.

21.00   I’d planned to get a photo of the cruise ship ‘Nieuw Statendam’ leaving the Firth this evening but the sun has gone down and with it the light.   Oh well.... bedtime chocolate and a browse through the TV channels for ‘the boy’.   Actually an early night in bed would be a good idea.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
