Sunny and warm ....

13th June 2023 (Tuesday)    08.30 .... We had a misty start to the morning but

the sun has burnt that back and we now have a ‘sunny day with a moderate breeze’ as per weather forecast for our area.    There’s a Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, active from midday through to 21.00, which includes Fife.    There could be interesting clouds.    Alice and I will have been to Leven beach before then: any storms, which are hit or miss events, will more likely be towards the West of Fife.... I hope.

21.30   The thunderstorms forecast for today moved up the West coast and never got anywhere near Fife;  the nearest lightning strike to Fife was at Loch Lomond.    Interesting clouds? ... not one so a very boring, more or less ‘wall to wall bloo sky all day ....and hot in the afternoon.   This is the weather I’m hoping will clear me of ‘LC’ (long COVID) once and for all.  I have a siesta during the heat of the day....which is what I do near enough every day.... but on hot days it’s siesta!

As mentioned above I went to Methil to visit;  we had a cuppa then went to Leven beach to get stones for the Letham Glen activity centre tomorrow morning.   The beach was busy;  not that there was much of a beach because the tide was full in, but there are always pebbles washed up at the high tide mark.    Alice got the stones .... and I got a few beach photographs;  including one of someone picking up pebbles.  Even at that time of day the beach was starting to fill up with families coming for a picnic etc.  Alice and I went back to Methil and sorted the world out.  Naebody listens so we gave up and had lunch.

I was back at Ivy just after 14.15;  had a cuppa then promptly did the siesta thing!   When I woke up (about 45 minutes later) it was still too hot ...24C.... and mauchless ....so I made another cuppa and got the pencils out.

The WD40 appears to have temporarily fixed the bike;  I’ll see how it goes when I go for

the paper tomorrow morning.   I have nae plan for tomorrow; but the weather is going to be sunny and warm with a moderate breeze.... much the same as today.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
