17th June 2023 (Saturday)     09.15 ..... There’s a change with the weather


today;  we have a cloudier  sky, instead  of the ‘wall to wall’ bloo that we’ve had the pleasure of for the past couple o’ days.    I’ve been for the paper via a devious route so varied selection of photographs (FB page) this morning. .... and I remembered to pick up the paper.   Since then I’ve had a migraine so this is now a ‘rest’ day:  I’d hoped to go and torment Alice but I’d better no’ drive.    Did I hear a sigh o’ relief coming from Methil just now?   I’ll start a new drawing and spend the day with that and Soduko’s .... and Blob.



20.00   It has been a funny old day for me;  I never really got going after I had the migraine;  that said I’m feeling brighter now so I’m guessing there’s been rain somewhere not to far away.   I started my next ‘Kinneuchar arches’ drawing but it is going to be tricky sorting out measurements, when they converted toe ‘old’ church into one to suit Protestant (religious) services.   There isn’t a ‘scale’ that covers this new drawing so I’ll have to do some measuring up at Kinneuchar and take it from there.   The problem is that they put balconies into the Nave and Chancel of the old building.   I’m looking forward to sorting it all out from the drawings I’ve already done.

Although we haven’t had rain for a few days the sky is beginning to look like we could get some tonight.... but only a ‘low chance of precipitation’ I imagine.   That said we could be doing with rain.

Tom and Natalie’s hedge brightened up after the thundery rain the other night;  all except the bit where the gate (and steps) onto Ferry Road used to be.    There is obviously a lack of good soil there.

21.00   I’ve had a fairly productive day;  tomorrow I’ll put pencil to paper.   Today was spent working out some kind of scale to work with.  The weather forecast is ....‘light rain showers with a moderate breeze’ after a bright morning.    Thunderstorms are forecast for England and Wales;  spreading our way on Sunday night.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
