Frosty ....

14th December 2022 (Wednesday)     07.45 .... It’s -3C this morning but it

feels much colder than that... because there a brisk breeze from the WNW.   It’s bitterly cold;  I won’t be going to the beach until the sun is up... if at all.    Our forecast for today is .... 14 minute pause .... is ...‘sunny with a moderate wind’.... so it’s going to be a bonnie day .... but  awfie cauld.
It’s definitely a Christmas card writing day.

10.30    I’m having ‘morrrrning coffee’ before going out to post the cards;  the Royal Mail workforce is on strike today so there’s no hurry to get the cards out... as long as it’s sometime today.   (As I have previously mentioned;  if an MP is worth £84,144 plus expenses and perks ... what are workers worth?????).

I’ll be going out in the car to pick up the paper and get bread at the Bakers so I’ll post them then.   I’m not keen on my toast this morning.... having been slightly overdone.   ‘Burnt’ in fact... then scraped.

12.30    I’ve been up to Elie for the papers, bread and a couple of vitally needed Christmas pies.    The sun is well up but it’s still cold out... especially at the harbour.    That reminds me;  on the way to the harbour I remembered to post the Christmas cards.   I’m a ‘happy boy’.   I’d be even happier if it was warmer.

16.45    We had a peaceful lookin’ sunset...that means it’s going to be cold tonight... and

tomorrow.  I am not enjoying this cold spell.   Having said that I took the car to the Toft to catch the sunset, and had a run to the harbour then home by Kinneuchar.

22.30    I went out to the bucket and  was surprised to find that the temperature is above freezing!    The warmest it has been all day.  The weather forecast has us down for another frosty night.... and another cold day tomorrow.   I only hope it isn’t as cold as it was today.   Today reminded of one winter when we were working on a site in Glenrothes;  it was foggy with no wind, and was so cold that the fog was freezing, and  literally falling like freezing fog.    That’s the only time I have ever seen that.   This cold spell is supposed to end over the weekend.
