Windy and not warm ...

25th May 2022 (Wednesday)   07.30....Hmmmm ...we don’t have a bonnie start


to the day: It’s windy and the is sky overcast with spots o’ rain hitting the window now and again and it’s cool.  The forecast for later in the morning and afternoon is better; windy with sunny spells.  It is a good day for wandering round Kellie Castle, then having a cuppa/lunch (if there’s food available) followed by walk round the garden in the afternoon sunshine.   A interesting way to spend a cool day.

17.30    It has been a mostly bright and breezy day....but....when Alice and I were going round Kellie Castle gardens (this was in the middle of the day) we saw some heavy looking shower clouds, but luckily most of them never got beyond the spits and spots stage: Until the last one.... it reach deluge level.  However by that time we were ensconced in the Cafe having lunch.   The actual Castle was ‘Closed’;  and will remain ‘Closed’ for a couple of weeks.... an ‘ousekeeping problem needs to be sorted.   The garden is a mass of fresh greens and early flowering ‘floo’ers.... absolutely stunning.    We’ll do the Castle layer in the year.   That is if Alice lugs have survived the constant chattering they’ve had to put up with today.   Alice is a good listener.


21.00   My word;  this has been a busy and pleasurable day, and I am tired tonight.   Tomorrow will be a rest day; in fact, having seen Alice’s garden then Kellie Castle garden I’ll potter around the garden most of the day.  Although I like the garden ‘wild’ (and insects certainly do) I think a spot of tidying up wouldn’t go amiss.   That will be a job for tomorrow.

There has been a brisk, and cool, wind all day and it looks like it could be even windier tomorrow.   If I’m out on the bike it’ll be early;  having said that, I might not be extricating myself from my bed very early so ‘going out early’ tomorrow morning might be about 10.00.

We have a bonnie evening albeit windy and not as warm as it should be at this time of


year.    I’d go down to the beach but bedtime chocolate is warmer.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
