Nice morning ....

15th May 2022 (Sunday)    09.30 .... things are happening ‘aw ower the place’


this morning:  we have a new derrick on the pier.... Jock’s car is moored up at the Library;  the Library isnae ‘open’ so he must be golfin’.... and yacht ‘Tami Nori’ is at the mooring buoy.  Apart from the aforementioned everything else is where it should be.

We have a lovely morning... if it wisnae for a nice cool NE breeze it would be far too warm in the sun.   I’ve been for the paper (in the car) and ‘plan’ to go out on the bike later in the afternoon:  if it isn’t too warm..... actually I feel ‘slightly sluggish’ this morrrrrrrrning.   I have a paper to browse so I need to put the kettle 'on'.

18.30   Clean the windows?.... never even got the step ladders out:  in fact I spent the afternoon watching the TV and doing Soduko’s.   I’ve come to the conclusion that the virus I had was the COVID... the vaccine works really well on the physical bit.... sore head, throat and cough;  so well that it does feel like ‘just a cold’.    However the vaccine doesn’t seem to stop the longer term ‘side effects’;  such as fatigue etc.    This morning I wandered around the harbour... I enjoyed that.   I then enjoyed sorting out the photos I’d take, planning to clean the windows, making lunch (Sausages, mash and vegetables)


etc..... then the energy fizzles out.  I didn’t go out on the bike in the afternoon, mind you it was a bit windy (and from the wrong direction) for me.   I feel ‘positive’ .... but frustrated at the same time.   What we all need is a spell of warm sunny weather to help us to shake orf any bugs.   Must go ‘slight flap on’ .... I’m going to bring the step ladders in so that I can clean the insides of the windows tomorrow.

23.00    This is a late night for me, after watching a Jubilee Celebration on Channel 3.  I took some photos but whether they will be any good remains to be seen:  tomorrow!   It’s bed time for me now... and I suspect I won’t be getting ‘up’ early tomorrow morning.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
