Quiet morning ....

7th May 2022 (Saturday)     09.30 .... It’s beautiful morning; cloudy but very


peaceful.... and we are forecast to get sunny spells in the afternoon.   I took the car when I went for the paper, because it was spittin’ rain at the time but I hope to get out on the bike later in the morning, then charge the battery up and go out again later in the afternoon.   Depends on how busy the roads are.  

Elie harbour is incredible at early morning time;  especially when the light was as it was this morning.  Yes all is where it should be at the harbour.    I like harbours.... there’s always something happening.

13.30    I’ve been out on the bike... but I didn’t go as far as I wanted ‘cos it was spittin’ rain, and it started to get serious so I abandoned the mission.   The bike battery was down at one bar so it’s now being charged, and I should get out later in the afternoon;  the sun is starting to break through now.


17.30    The sun did break through the clouds but only for short spells.... at least it was brighter.    I got the bike out in the late part of the afternoon and did the same run as I did the other day;  Kinneuchar, Elie Estate then home by Elie.   It was easier this time but there’s no denying it, that virus I had is taking a bit of shaking orf.   The breathing tubes have been the worst affected but they are slowly clearing.   I wish I had done a test at the time;  I’ll never know now whether I had COVID or not.   Luckily, the time I did have a virus I lay low because I didn’t feel like going out;  in fact I’ve near enough been self isolating for the past two years.   Anyway I enjoyed my trip out on the bike this afternoon;  but it was cold.

20.30    Tomorrow is going to be a ‘rest day’;  the weather is going to be much like today’s was....with the wind from the East so once again it will be cool.    I’ll take the bike to go for the paper in the morning... and visit the harbour;  that’s assuming the weather is amenable.  

I’m tired tonight so it’s early chocolate, then try to find something to watch on the tele: 


if I can’t find anything to watch it will be an early night in bed with my book.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
