Nice morrrrrrrrrning ....

4th May 2022 (Wednesday)     10.00.... All is good at Elie and Earlsferry this


morning;  I’ve been for the paper (and got it), visited the harbour (and photographed it to bits), had breakfast;  now I’m thinking of getting the bike out.   I had a few spits and spots o’ rain at the harbour so I’ll check the weather forecast (and have a bother cuppa) before deciding when to go out on the bike.



16.45    I decided to go biking in the afternoon;  then the showers came.   No biking in the afternoon.   I took some glass to the skip at Woodhaven, and picked up my prescription at the chemist.... but that was in the car.   So this has been a ‘rest day’.... though I might go out on the bike in a wee while:  it looks like the showers have moved away.... and the traffic has quietened.    Pollution/pollen levels have been high today. 


Some of the local potholes are being patched up at long last;  but not all of them.   You find them all when on a bike.  I’ll have a cuppa and have a look at the shower cloud situation.

20.30   I had breezy but pleasant run up to Chapel Green in the early evening;  and I enjoyed a seat (and a blether) overlooking Elie Bay;  actually it was quite warm in the fresh westerly breeze.   From there I went up to the Pony Field  to take in a view that I always enjoy.   I had hoped to see a few golfers on the course but I could only see one.

Strangely enough this has been a bad breathing day for me;  alright first thing in the morning and  in the evening but the bit in between can be iffy.    That reminds me I must write a few notes to place in strategic places reminding me of my phone appointment with Gill (Nurse).   That will be done immediately after this update.

The ‘plan’ for tomorrow all depends on the weather...."light cloud with a moderate


breeze and the chance of precipitation” is the forecast so I’ll have to work between showers.   I’ll see how it looks at 06.00.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
