Quiet morning ....

5th January 2022 (Wednesday)    07.30 .... it’s a cold morning, but not frosty


(so far) on what is a quiet morning.   It’s going o be a good ‘drying day’ ....’bright and breezy’ .... warmer than yesterday but not ‘iggzactly’ warm.   I’m feeling brighter eyed and bushier tailed today;  yesterday was a sluggish day .... so might just get the bike out in the middle of the day when the temperature is going to be 4C.  That isn’t warm;  I might have a run out in the car.... I have some stuff to take to Woodhaven re-cycling.

17.00    Oops ....‘Flap on’.....just remembered that the washing is still on the line.      

17.30     It’s a bonnie night, after a bonnie day;  and an enjoyable one.    I managed to the beach twice;  met Carol out with the dog the first time, and a bay seal.   The seal had moulted it’s creamy ‘birth’ fur, which probably means that it is now has to make its own way in the Grey seal world.    


The second time on the beach was at sunset time;  it was a beautiful evening for a stroll.   I didn’t do much ‘strolling’, but a lot of people were.   I went down to get a sunset photo, and I was well pleased with that mission.    It was not a spectacular sunset;  just a lovely, quiet, end to a bonnie, albeit cold, day.








20.30    I’ve just had a look at the weather forecast..... and it’s going to be cold tonight, and tomorrow.   There could be nice clouds about tomorrow as sleet showers are forecast;  hey... that’s wintry stuff.   I have no ‘plan’ for tomorrow, though I doubt if I’ll be going far if it’s cauld.   Right now I’m going to make the chocolate, and have a look at the tele channels.   My eyelids are heavy so I guess if I do find something worth looking at I won’t see much of it.

‘M’ (NZ) has had the plumber in to fix the leak in her kitchen:  it (the leak) was caused


by a cracked pipe.   She was in the middle of tidying up when I Skyped her tonight.    The damage will be covered by her home insurance.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
