Bright and sunny ....

11th January 2022 (Tuesday)    10.30 ....We have a beautiful, ‘bright and


sunny’ morning at the Centre of The Universe;  a bonnie day for a stroll .... but it is cool. 

I went to the harbour first thing;  I was going to say after I picked up the paper, but I forgot the paper.... so. I’ve been to the harbour.  Sunrise happened behind low cloud but didn’t take long for the sun to appear above them;  we now have a ‘bright and sunny’ day,....  with a light breeze so not very warm.    I have a washing out, but doubt if it will dry.... unless the wind freshens;  which it sometimes does around midday.

21.00     The sun makes a huge difference to my activity levels;  today I have been busy (I’m tired now).   After ‘Morrrrrning coffee’ I had a walk up to the Pony Field, taking


photos of the work activity on Ferry Road.   That work appears to me nearing completion, as they are filling in the channel they buried the gas pipe in.    There was a moody sky so I had an enjoyable time with the camera.   By the time I got back to Ivy I was hungry, and well ready for lunch.

After lunch and a 30 minute catnap I swept up the leaves that have been littering the garden for weeks.  There’s still some room in the ‘broon’ bucket for more garden rubbish, so I’ll ‘hit’ the Ivy bush tomorrow. 

The washing I hung out didn’t quite dry.... the wind didn’t freshened much .... but it (the washing) was dry enough to iron; so I did the ironing.   It was about this time that I remembered the ‘not so crispy crispies’ that I made the other day;  a cuppa and  a crispy would go down well.   The ‘not so crispy crispies’ have matured into ‘nearly crispy crispies (I keep them in an air tight container) and are very tasty now.   I’ll be making more of them, but with less than four tablespoons of syrup;  that was the amount on the recipe that I used.

The Kirk Stroll’ is in St Minnins tomorrow, starting from the Kirk Hall at 10.00;  the


weather forecast is, ‘breezy, with light cloud, the chance of sunny spells .... and dry.   

Today’s work effort has caught up with me, and I am totally ready for chocolate .... and bed.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
