Quiet morning .....

8th December 2021 (Wednesday)      07.30 .... The wind has moderated, so


we have a peaceful morning as far as that goes;  but I can hear waves rolling onto the beach.  It will be interesting to see the changes down there.   Low tide is at 11.10.... sunrise at 08.32.

13.00    I was wondering if Storm Barra had changed the beach;  you know moved heaps of sand around, but there doesn’t seem to be any change.   I was also pleasantly surprised by the sunrise sky this morning:    I went down there expecting much greyness, but we had a sky that was interesting and colourful.   

Back at Ivy I had a quick browse through this morning’s photograph at breakfast time;  then had a quick trip to Leven.    I cannot get over how busy the roads are nowadays;  huge lorries delivering stuff to various places in the East Neuk..... building materials and food.    I got everything I went to Leven for... and did a small shopping in Sainsbury’s.      My morning has been full of surprises;   Sainsbury’s was busy... and that was in the middle of the morning.


With the weather being so pleasant;  I got the bike out and had a run up to Chapel Green.   It’s actually pleasantly ‘warm’ out, but the temperature is starting to drop now, so I am ‘moored up’ for the remainder of the day. 

17.30    The next couple of days look like being good drying days  ... oops .... I meant play days;    Friday looks like being the bonnier of the two but also the cooler. 

Ye Gods.... I have had a lazy afternoon.    The hectic (by my standards) morning must have caught up with me;  I can now fall asleep, in front of the tele, without even switching it ‘on’.   Jings.... I can’t look forward to the ‘repeats’, because I don’t know what I’ve missed.   Anyway forget aw that;  I woke up, about an hour ago, saw that it daylight and thought  I’d missed sunrise.   That reminds me, I have a load of photographs to play with this evening.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
