Bright, breezy and cool .....

1st December 2021 (Wednesday)  08.00 .... Mmmmmm .... there’s much


‘dreichness’ just now;  all is grey and wet;  but .... this will change and we should have sunny spells by mid morning.    I looked out at 05.30, saw the dampness, gave ‘Blob’ a digestive snack, on top of the broon bucket, and went back to bed;  eventually getting ‘up’ at 07.15.  

11.00     I’m a ‘happy bunny’;  after the dreich beginning, we now have a bright, breezy, and cold morning with loads on interesting clouds.   It’s too cold to go out on the bike, so I went for the paper in the car.... and down to the harbour.   The wind is from the Northeast so the harbour isn’t the warmest place to be, but there are sheltered corners.

The car road tax was due this morning so that has been done (online);  and,... the ‘Troops’ are going to Myra’s for lunch, so no food to prepare.  


17.30   We, The Troops’ enjoyed a fabulous ‘Ardross’ lunch  at Myra’s;  Chicken pie with all the trimmings, followed by an Ardross sweet (like a Lemon Meringue Pie but it wasn’t);  puku was a happy puku at the end of it.    Ken (Weir), from Kinneuchar, was there so we were able to discuss Kinneuchar as well as Elie and Earlsferry.  We did see a barge, bumbling up and down the Firth, with two jackets aboard.... and some folk coming up from the beach, and others going down to the beach.   It was a beautiful afternoon but very cold.

When I got back to Ivy Shona came down the High Street;   she was frozen, having been for a walk on the beach, so we went into Ivy and had a cuppa and blether.   Nothing much is ‘appening in Shona’s world.    It seems that that there’s nothing ‘appening anywhere. 

 09.00    I have enjoyed my ‘today’, but I am really really tired tonight;  probably


because I haven’t  had a catnap all day.    Tomorrow (it's going to be a ‘rest day’) is going to be another ‘bright, breezy and cold’ day.   I’ll go somewhere, in the car, to get a few photographs from some sheltered corner.   It’s browse the tele time...and, I might as well have my chocolate ‘cos I’ll probably fall asleep.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
