Heavily overcast sky .....

 

27th December 2021 (Monday)    08.30 .... it’s dark, and sunrise isn’t until


08.51, so I can’t see very much outside at the moment.   No  spots of rain on the window so it’s dry, but light rain is forecast to come over by mid morning;  a good day for packing up, and making ready for the journey home tomorrow.

10.45    Welll .... I’ve been to the end of the driveway, but it isn’t the kind of day to be out and about just now,;  it may brighten up, for a wee while, later, but I’ll be busy packing, ready for an early start tomorrow.   Catriona is travelling to Brighton, via London Kings X, tomorrow and the London train departs Aberdeen at 07.45, hence the early start.   Jackie and I leave Aberdeen, after seeing Catriona on her way:  I should be home by midday.   Jackie is travelling on to Glasgow (Bearsden), to stay with her Mum and Dad for a few days.


15.30   It’s going to be dark early tonight at Auchnagatt;  after a dull, but dry, day.   The sun nearly broke through in the middle of the day; I did consider going out, but the ‘nearly a sunny spell’ was fleeting.   My bags are packed, and considerably bulkier than they were on the way up.  I have a load of  Christmas presents.  The car will be fairly well packed until we reach Aberdeen where Catriona will leave us ..... at the Railway Station.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
