Breezy, cool and dry ....

6th October 2021 (Wednesday)   07.30 .... the rain stopped about midnight, so

Gardenstown East pier.

we now have a dry, breezy and mostly clear sky, though there is a layer of heavy cloud towards the Northwest.   The wind will have lifted much of the rain that fell yesterday so the Buchan Cycle way should be dry.   Due to it being a former railway line, it does drain well, in most places.    We are not setting off until later in the morning, by which time the temperature should have risen;  at the moment it is at 7C.

08.30   The lump of low cloud that was Northwest has drifted over us and we now have heavy Scotch Mist nullifying the past few hours of the drying wind.    After this spell of dampness (typical Scottish weather) the sun is forecast to break through, to give us a pleasant few hours;  enough time to bike to Newmachar.    There is one part of the 'Way', just north of Ellon, that might be muddy.

11.00    We have had two short spells of Scotch mist, but the forecast is good for the afternoon.  The Newmachar run is still ‘on’, after lunch; Scotch mist permitting.    In the meantime have been sorting out some more of the photos I took at Gardenstown the other day.
