Bright and breezy ....

1st October 2021 (Friday)     11.00 ....  we have a ’bright and breezy’ day, with


the chance of a squally shower.   I have a washing on the line;  if the showers miss us the washing should dry quickly.   

I’ve been for the papers and down at the harbour .... where I met Stuart;   and discovered that I didn’t have a camera with me.    I louped back intae the car and was back at Ivy, getting the bike out, in ‘nae time’;  got the bike out, to go to  Chapel Green and get the photos I wanted.

Since then I have been to Ardross to do a shopping;  now all I have to do is make up Iain’s bed.   And run round wi’ the ‘oover...maybe even do some dustin’.


14.00     Keeping an eye on the weather, so that the washing disnae get soaked, has turned me into me “bag o’ nerves”.     The washing is nearly dry so I’d be wery annoyed if it got soaked. ....and, the clouds are fast moving.    I have been doing other things;   making up Iain’s bed is the ongoing job just now;  and drinking numerous, nerve calming cuppas.    It’s actually a bonnie day in between showers, but it is breezy.

20.30    Iain arrive at 17.30 so I put a couple of ready meals (Ardross) into the oven;  we’ve had food,  had a run along to ‘The Store’, and will now settle down for the night.    I am tired.... bed making used to be an easy job..... it still is really;  but I tire quicker.    Early to bed tonight,....ready for the journey to Auchnagatt.    The main packing has been done.... the camera;   I guess I’d better pack some clothes now.   I’m only going up


for a few days... and taking the bike.   The forecast for here and Auchnagatt is .... ‘light rain showers and a moderate breeze’.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
